Your work in Year 2 should build upon the experience of the first year of the course. Our aim is to enable you to further develop the depth and breadth of your work. 

 

This includes building on the thinking, language, skills and confidence which is necessary to initiate and innovate your work along personal lines. To do this it is important to be open minded and receptive to new ideas. You should also be prepared to work hard and set yourself high standards.

This year will continue to expand your knowledge of the possibilities, spontaneity and excitement in your work, which develops through a wider understanding of your subject.  This website is a guide to help you through the initial planning stages for your first Year 2 project, the Personal Investigation. It is vital that you read all the information carefully and if you have any questions feel free to speak to your teacher.

Within each section - Art, Graphics, Photography, Textiles - there are a number of project starting points. Look through all of these carefully,  consider 2 - 3 which you could potentially use as the focus for your own project. Research and record these possible projects in your Black Book. You will then settle on one project starting point and fill in the Personal Investigation Proposal Form which must be completed and emailed to your teacher before Thursday 24th June.
